I hope you have all come through this unusually cold and wet winter, staying well and connected during the current COVID-19 restrictions. These are unprecedented conditions in our life-time, while challenging, it is wonderful to see the co-op housing community coming together and supporting one-another.

Upcoming Q&A Forum

I am very much looking forward to your co-op participation in the upcoming Q&A Forum Influencing the Program. The background papers for the forum are intended to inform co-ops about key issues and considerations involved in CEHL governance, Program governance, and prompt co-ops to ask questions of clarification or seek additional information in the forum. The CEHL Board is committed to the Program being ‘co-op led’ and the Q&A’s are designed to support co-ops being more informed and engaged.

Annual General Meeting Saturday, 28 November 2020

In a year of embracing change, the CEHL Board agreed to hold the CEHL AGM this year online rather than meeting face-to-face. We are working to ensure that all the processes and opportunities of a face-to-face meetings can be replicated as best we can online. We will provide more information in the coming months about making the most of this years AGM.

Seeking Nominations for CEHL Director positions

Taking on a CEHL director role is a key opportunity to influence Program governance, CEHL governance and strategic direction. In mid-August an information session for prospective CEHL Directors was held. The online session covered information for co-op members about their specific duties and requirements.

CEHL Board Director position description and details about becoming a CEHL co-op elected board director along with nomination forms was sent to co-ops last week.

If you are aware of people with the interest, skills and time to commit to being a CEHL Board member please encourage them to nominate for a director vacancy. All nominations must be authorised and endorsed by your co-op. Nomination forms and identification must be submitted by 5pm 28 September 2020 to the Company Secretary info@cehl.com.au

Information about each of the co-op nominees will be sent to co-ops for consideration in October 2020 and an election of directors will take place, at the Annual General Meeting on 28 November 2020, if more nominations are received than positions available.

We encourage all co-ops to actively engage in the process of electing co-op member to the CEHL Board and the Annual General Meeting.

Strategic Planning

The CEHL Board is starting the process to develop a new Strategic Plan, there will be opportunity for co-op input, we will share more details in the coming months.

Co-op Program Committee

I am pleased to see the Co-op Program Committee get underway and look forward to seeing the new committee develop its identity and work toward their aspirations that led them to be involved.
