    • curious about exploring leading practice in co-op governance

    Work together with co-op members across the state.

    Co-op Program Committee (CPC)
    1 position available
       Policy Advisory Committee (PAC)
    5 positions available
    Co-op Program Committee made up of:
    4 x co-op members
    2 x Board members
    1 x independent co-op expert
    1 x independent chair

    Key priorities:

    • Provide advice to the CEHL Board on increasing member voice and its impact
    • Taking actions that lead to the CEHL Co-operative Housing Program being co-op led
    • Build the capacity of co-ops and their members in engagement and governance

    Recent achievements

    • Established in July 2020, set priorities of the committee and how they will measure their success and work together
    • Input into CEHL Strategic Plan
    • Input into processes to engage co-ops
    • Researched and discussed case studies on leading co-op governance

    POSITION DESCRIPTION

    • Engage in lively discussion about a range of stimulating issues and concerns
    • Formulate recommendations to the CEHL Board
    • Curious and eager to learn about leading co-op engagement and governance practices
    • Attend approx. 18 meetings a year. About 8 hours per quarter. Next CPC meeting 12 May 2021
    • Work with co-ops and their members in your region
    • Position period 12 May to 30 June 2022

    Applicants are assessed against the Selection Considerations and selected to the commitee by the CEHL Board to ensure a balance of skills and experience

       Policy Advisory Committee made up of:
    9 x co-op members (1 per region)
    1 x Board member
    1 x Board member chair

    Key priorities:

    • Assist the CEHL Board with policy development
    • Make sure the needs and views of co-ops are heard and reflected in Program policies and procedures

    Recent achievements:

    • Updates for program policies in relation to Residential Tenancies Act regulation changes
    • Retirement of Directives

    POSITION DESCRIPTION

    1. Engage in discussions about critical changes that affect co-op and Program operations and make recommendations to the CEHL Board
    2. Ensure compliance with the law
    3. Set standards of operations
    4. Attend 4 x meetings a year (minimum requirement 3 meetings) approx. 6 hours per quarter. Next PAC meeting 11 June 2021
    5. Work with co-ops and their members in your region
    6. 2-years to March 2022 or 2023 depending on region

    Members of the region vote for PAC representatives
    • Where MORE THAN ONE nomination is received, the co-ops in that region will be notified and asked to vote to select their representative
    • Where ONLY ONE nomination is received in a region, the co-ops in that region will be notified. and asked if there are any concerns with the nominee. If there are no concerns, the nominee will be accepted and the as that regions representative.
