CEHL is excited to share an outline of property development works for 2021, and it’s safe to say it’s a big year of works!

In addition to the seven development projects are currently underway, the Real Estate Services team is seeking funds for additional properties through the Social Housing Growth Fund (SHGF) announced by the Victorian Government late 2020. The current funding prospects present an invaluable opportunity for CEHL to deliver more quality, liveable, affordable housing for co-ops with outcomes being announced late 2021.

Current projects underway will deliver 50 dwellings with a mix of 1, 2, 3 and 4 bedrooms across these locations:

  • Brunswick (delivery 2022/2023)
  • Frankston
  • Geelong West
  • Grovedale x 2
  • Hamlyn Heights
  • Newcomb
  • Bundoora
  • Endeavour Hills

All developments are close to early learning centres, schools, medical services, a range of leisure options and have good public transport connectivity.

Developments and proposed acquisitions are based in locations where there is a co-op need and opportunity to ensure co-ops and the CEHL Program remain viable into the future.

Co-op Future Direction Plans (FDP) are one mechanism that assist CEHL in this process. The FDPs are an invaluable opportunity for co-ops to set a long-term goal shared by all members of your co-op in relation to members, property and finance, and to discuss future property portfolio aspirations. This information is reviewed by the Real Estate Services team to ensure that we are delivering household outcomes in alignment with these aspirations.

If your co-op would like to develop or update your FDP, please discuss with your Co-op Development Coordinator.

We look forward to sharing updates on our progress throughout the year, so stay tuned!
