The Co-operative Program Committee (CPC) is up and running and it’s members have high hopes for it’s future. The CEHL Board created the committee to tackle big decisions and changes that affect the Program as a whole and to ensure we have a truly ‘co-op led Program’.

The committee is considering it’s priorities and in time, will be providing recommendations to the CEHL Board after engagement and consultation with co-ops.

Committee members were appointed through an expression of interest process and selected by the CEHL Board.

Shirley, from Riverland CERC, hopes the CPC can achieve ‘a better relationship between the Company and CERCs, and above all, respectful communications.’

Elizabeth, from Kakadu CERC, is optimistic that the committee will ‘bring a change in culture that is grounded in community and belonging to community’.

Co-op expert Gillian McFee will contribute strategic advice to help the committee review strategy in response to the changing external and internal operating environments.  Gillian is looking forward to ‘learning from CEHL members about how it’s co-operative governance works in practice, particularly when difficult issues arise, and observe how adjustments might contribute to growing and sustaining a positive membership culture and a ‘co-op led housing program’.
