Hello everyone,

As 2021 draws to a close, I look forward to the new year and working with the CEHL co-op community to develop our organisation as a leading example of co-operative housing.

The Towards 2025 Strategic Plan provides a clear direction from the Board and co-ops to the CEHL leadership team.  Thank you for providing that clarity, which will guide our planning for 2022 and beyond.

We have already commenced work to translate the vision of empowered people, thriving co-operatives and better housing solutions, into a reality.  I look forward to proving regular updates on our progress throughout the coming year.

The immediate priorities of the CEHL leadership team are to:

  • respond to the feedback from the co-op surveys
  • improve Board and co-op communication and reporting
  • work with the Housing Registrar to address the matters raised in the 2020/21 performance assessment report
  • develop CEHL’s role as a co-op housing ambassador
  • proactively engage with internal and external stakeholders
  • build an internal culture of excellence and integrity

Over the past two years, the pandemic has posed very real challenges for CEHL co-ops and the CEHL team.  The new year will see us draw on the resilience and strength we have gained over that time to build a co-operative housing community we can all celebrate.
