CEHL launched the Towards 2025 Strategic Plan at the Annual General Meeting on Saturday 27 November 2021.

The plan sets the way for investment in an expanded, evidence-based and thriving co-operative housing program to be delivered in partnership with co-operatives.
Co-op directors Heidi Lee, Fiona Herman and Robyn Evans were returned, elected by shareholder co-operatives for a further two-year term. Judy Reid was acknowledged for her nomination.

CEHL + Co-op Achievements 2020-2021
It has been a significant year of achievements through adaptation, as CEHL continues to manage COVID impacts in the way we work together, and, in our personal lives.
Co-op members were acknowledged for their contribution they make every-day in their co-ops, on committees and in advisory groups.
Highlights for the 2020-2021 financial year, achieved by co-ops and CEHL by working together, were:
- Maintained 25% affordability benchmark
- Established the Co-op Program Committee to ensure the co-op voice is heard in Program decisions
- Set a clear direction through the Towards 2025 - Strategic Plan
- Continue to build co-op capacity through training:
- Working remotely
- Residential Tenancies Act
- Co-op development
- Working remotely
- Maintained and invested in Program properites:
- $7.12M Maintenance Stimulus (Victorian Government Funding) for over 500 homes
- $10.1M grant funding (under the Victorian Governement Big House Build) to help fund 50 new program homes, under construction
- $476K net financial benefit to the Program through Capital investments
- Secruing $15M long-term lower cost loans
Congratulations Honour Board inductee - Karren Walker
Since 1988, Karren Walker has made an outstanding and significant contribution to the Program, and the co-operative movement more broadly.
Karren’s passion and dedication to co-operatives continues in her ongoing work as a member of the Co-op Program Committee. Congratulations Karren.

Guest speakers presented current projects that aim to amplify the value in housing co-ops and the co-op voice. Each project provides a unique opportunity for member involvement:

Presented by Louise Crabtree-Hayes, Western Sydney University.
Louise is leading this Australia-wide research that aims to identify the benefit that housing co-ops provide to individuals and the broader community. Louise also encourages more co-op members to be involved in this research, click on the link above to find out more
Co-op Program Committee Report + Vacancy opportunity
Presented by Gillian McFee, Independent Co-op Advisor on the Co-op Program Committee.
Gillian outlined the key achievements of the committee for the past year:
- Established engagement principles, processes and evaluation framework
- Played an important role in the development of the Strategic Plan
- Commenced work on developing and validating member value and Program Outcomes Framework (the Creating Meaningful Impact Project)
- Provided insights for incoming Managing Director

Presented by Kevin Robbie of Think Impact
The project will resource and train co-op members to be trained as Engagement Coordinators who will support co-ops in their region to participate in Program engagement activities. The Engagement Coordinators will play an active role in the development and validation of a shared co-op/CEHL Program Outcomes Framework in 2022.
The first information sessions were held online on 13 and 14 December 2021 about this exciting training opportunity.
