MAINTENANCE STIMULUS UPDATE

Home upgrades off to a flying start

Maintenance stimulus works are off and running with 26 projects already completed across six of our nine regions.

Pre-planning and coordination with co-op maintenance directors has been essential in this quick start, as well as having established connections with reputable, reliable local tradespeople.
We greatly appreciate the co-operation of households to help us achieve this cracking pace.

As the construction sector is very busy, we are working closely with our contractors about timing and scheduling the work to be completed before June 2022.

To make sure we are delivering high quality works with high quality service, every household who has maintenance stimulus works completed at their home will receive a short customer service survey so we can to monitor and track satisfaction levels and make improvements if required.

"We have been really impressed with the great feedback and conversations with co-ops about the works plans.  Thank you for providing information and working with us to get it right.
This is our highest volume of works ever, and we have solid processes in place.  We really appreciate the feedback to help us continue to improve.
We look forward to building on this as we start planning for works in the next financial year."

Home Heating + Cooling Upgrades

The Victorian Government recently announced rebates of $1,000 to replace old heaters with energy-efficient reverse-cycle air conditioners in homes owned and/or managed by a registered community housing organisation. This Program is now open for community housing organisations to apply for rebates.

But wait, there is more… there is another Program still under development by the Government that will enable community housing organisations to claim most of the remaining costs of these upgrades.

CEHL is keeping a close eye on these opportunities and will provide more information about participation in these programs as more details become available.

Introducing Dragan Franjic!

Some of you will have already met our new Property Inspections Officer, Dragan Franjic. He joined the team in February and will be doing all of our Asset Inspections while the Maintenance Stimulus Works are on.

Dragan is off to a great start and is making progress catching up after the pause during COVID.

Winter Property Tips

  • CLEAR GUTTERS - If you haven’t already, it’s a good time to clean your gutters and clear leaf debris. With leaves still falling and rainy days it can lead to clogged gutters and slippery pathways.
  • CLEAN HEATER/SPLIT SYSTEMS - It’s time to clean your heater or split-system filters. Check the instructions – generally they simply need to be removed and vacuumed. This will help your heater run more efficiently and safely during the cold months.
  • CHECK ELECTRICAL LEADS + PLUGS - Check of all your electrical leads and plugs. Replace any leads or plugs that are damaged as these have potential to start fires.
