My name is Sharon Quinn and I have been a Common Equity Rental Housing Co-operative (CERC) member since 1992. Currently I am training to become a Level 1 coach to teach children and adults with disabilities to ride horses with Riding for the Disabled Association.

I have been involved with the Training Advisory Committee (TAC) since 2014, so you can see that I love having an input towards CERC training and all the workbooks we have created since the beginning.

Over the years people have come and gone (from the committee), but the knowledge and experience that members have, is just mind blowing to me.

The first training we did was learning the Co-operative Principles (in 2014). The principle training sessions were first used at a staff meeting. We tend to forget that there are a lot of staff and members that didn't even know our co-op principles (in 2014). After the session some staff had sticky notes on their computers with the principle that they related to. That really amazed us and made me realise that what we learnt when we started (when joining a co-op) five, ten or thirty years ago has a need to be taught to everyone.

TAC is looking for new members

We currently need more co-op members with an interest in having a say and can help with our training and development plans for the future.

Everyone has a story, something to learn or teach, when you put it all together.

TAC have come up with some terrific and knowledgeable training tools, we welcome you to join and help create more!
